Preforming devices are used to preform strands and wires during the stranding process of low-tension parts.
During this process, the workpieces of the product are bent plastically in a bending plane before being stranded on stranding machines. The prebending is carried out in accordance with the required geometry of the workpiece and the geometrical parameters. The roller diameter and roller adjustment as well as the adjustable roller distance have a significant impact on the plastic bending and thus on the production twist of the product.
